Specifically, Mastervac in-house technicians recommend using a dense phase pneumatic conveyor for all medium particle size products, such as rice or grains. In fact, the dense phase system features high water lift and low air content needed to move the product through the piping, which favours moving a modest amount of material without suspending it in the air inside the piping during handling.
This procedure ensures greater product integrity and prevents it from being mixed, moving the material in spaced out batches (fundamentally different from fluid phase systems, which consist in continuously moving the product inside the piping). Dense phase systems are recommended for particularly viscous or abrasive products that would risk disintegrating if moved more quickly through the piping from the collection point to the discharge point.
